1. Harrogate Food and Drink Festival 3rd-4th September 2022
The Harrogate Food Festival takes place at the beautiful Ripley Castle and will feature former Bake-Off contestant Freya Cox, and MasterChef winner Eddie Scott. It offers plenty of chef demonstrations, a wealth of street food stalls, drinks galore and non-stop entertainment; all with a picturesque lakeside view.
With entertainment for children and dogs welcome, Harrogate Food Festival offers fun for everyone, while each ticket purchase raises money for the mental health charity, Mind. You can find tickets here.
2. Happy Place Festival 3rd – 4th September 2022 – Tatton Park, Cheshire
Founded by the fabulous Fearne Cotton, Happy Place festival is a haven for all things wellness, creativity and self-love. The festival is a must-visit for fans of the podcast and Fearne Cotton’s books.
Based at Tatton Park, festival goers will be able to enjoy unwinding in the Massage Sanctuary or re-energise with a mood-boosting workout in the Energy Studio. There are also creative workshops taking place throughout the weekend and a dedicated Children’s Area which features craft, face painting and storytelling. 3. Greenwich Comedy Festival, National Maritime Museum – 14th – 18th September 2022, London
Enjoy a barrel of laughs at Greenwich Comedy Festival; this outdoor event brings a classic festival feel with plenty of open-air shows throughout each day of the event, as well as several street food and craft beer stalls too.
Greenwich Comedy Festival features TV-favourite comedians such as Rosie Jones and Dylan Moran. You can expect musical comedy from David O’Doherty and his tiny plastic keyboard, deadpan delivery from Stuart Lee, side-splitting one-liners from Milton Jones and a set from Taskmaster champion Sophie Duker.

4. BBC Radio 2 Live 17th – 18th September 2022 – Temple Newsam Park
If you’re a regular listener of Radio 2, you will have heard about their outdoor festival taking place this September in Leeds. With sprawling parkland and lake views, Temple Newsam is a fantastic location for this event which will feature big-name acts such as Robbie Williams, Elbow, Nile Rogers & Chic, as well as Tears for Fears, Bananarama and Simple Minds.
As well as the global stars of the music world, Radio 2 fans can also look forward to DJ sets from their well-known hosts, such as Gary Davies delivering an 80s Mastermix, Dermot O’Leary with a 90s setlist, Rylan Clark’s Ibiza Anthems and Zoe Ball and Richie Anderson delivering feel-good tunes.
5. Laughterama 21st – 25th September 2022 – Castlefield Bowl
Set in Manchester, Laughterama is a brand-new comedy festival taking place at Castlefield Bowl. The open-air festival is a fully seated outdoor arena, perfect for sitting back and relaxing while enjoying sets from the biggest names in stand-up comedy. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday events begin with gates opening at 6 pm, while Saturday and Sunday have an early show starting at 3 pm and a later show where gates open at 6 pm.
Wednesday’s event features Rose Matafeo and Lou Sanders, while Thursday features Nish Kumar, Tim Key and Mike Wozniak. You can start the weekend with laughter as Friday’s line-up includes Hannah Platt and Reginald D Hunter.
