Taking place in Protected Species birthplace, Glasgow, we created an innovative photoshoot along with the creative force of I’ll be your mirror – reflecting the brand’s vision and values. A shoot with our signature “seriously beautiful” theme at heart, it’s location was the city from where our designs first gathered their inspiration.
Unbroken blue sky set the scene and was a perfect backdrop for the endless possibility and versatility Protected Species rainwear represents. Exploring highly technical performance paired with streamline aesthetics, our look reflects the minimalist city surroundings of the contemporary corner of Glasgow chosen.
Functional and appealing to the senses, tactile fabrics came to life within the Glasgow City College location on Cathedral Street. This building combines clarity, style and elegance, laying the foundation for those sleek images we wanted to create.
Architects have referred to renowned Glasgow buildings such as the John Honeyman’s Ca’ d’oro and the Egyptian Halls by Alexander Greek Thomson as displaying a contemporary flair, cleverly blended with neo-classicism. Our designs mirror this, expressing a minimalist modern take on classic, timeless style.
Showcasing a muted colour palette of Sandstone, Nightsky, Navy, Olive and Atmosphere White, shades were illuminated within these urban Scottish surroundings. Explore the pictures we shot to capture the soft-to-the-touch fabrics and styles which stretch with movement, discovering Protected Species for yourself.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row equal_height=”yes”][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/Hxj4EWGvpks” align=”center”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1530649532307{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 30px !important;background-color: #c6b9ac !important;}”]The team:

A special mention for the music on our videos from Clubhouse Paradiso:
“It was clear from initial talks with Anne and Rebecca that Protected Species are heavily inspired by the urban/city environment. This provided the perfect backdrop for us when considering the audio accompaniment to our series of videos. As musicians, we like think of the sound as just as important as the visuals when creating videos like these. We collated a mixture of field recordings, found audio and original music – traffic, pedestrians and distant sirens became a recurring theme throughout each video and helped set the scene for each look.”
